Is this fruition of my college years,
arriving in an envelope, business-size,
Sallie Mae Corporation letterhead?
This is to inform you that you
havent made a payment on your loan
since the winter of, italicized, 1997.
If at this time you cannot make
the monthly payment we set,
youll be required to remit to us
the balance in full.
You know, I dont think Ill pay—
what kind of fool
would feed the beast that swallows its young?
Would feed the beast that swallows its young?
Clearly, eightteen isnt old enough to drink
but old enough to sign a promissary
interesting.
Military? Sure, join up.
And who can put a pricetag
on a top-notch education?
How about $50,000? $80,000? Well, thats
just for the textbooks.
But what exactly is the consequence
should I refuse to pay?
Is there still a Dickensian debtors prison?
Oh, there isnt? Well
If at this time you cannot make
the monthly payment we set,
well be required to revoke what every citizen fears:
your card for digging your hole deeper in debt
to the beast that swallows its young,
to feed the beast that swallows its young.
Everyone must go to university.
Without a good degree,
how will you pay the lenders
who staked you while attending university?
And everyone must grow the university.
This is to inform you that Ill never make a payment.
This is to inform you that Ill never make a payment
to the beast that swallows its young.

Every since I saw …
Every since I saw this almost a year ago, I keep coming back to this song when I’m feeling blue. Regardless of why I’m down in the dumps, this never fails to cheer me up- and even if the song didn’t, the endless debate in the comments section would! Thank you for making a song that can make you laugh at some of the most terrible trivialities at life. <3
Also, The Uke really needs its own Facebook page.

Take this video as …
Take this video as advice: don’t take out anymore student loan money that you need and please plan out your repayments.
I know it’s really hard sometimes but the hit to your credit report is not worth it. Get another job, call your lender, do what you need to do to keep your student loans out of default status.

Matt, this is genius stuff. Congratulations for your very expressive video. Godspeed the youngs’ revolt against this gruesome beast.
Would you kindly consider posting this song’s lyrics at the video description?
Thanks again and best wishes.

Why would you want …
Why would you want their “jobs?” Do you think these places hire people because they want to help them out and give them a share of their money? Fact is if you’re working for someone else, they’re usually making at least twice that much off of your work. The key is to create your own jobs, develop your own skills on your own in areas of business that aren’t highly regulated. For instance you can get on the internet and become a web designer/developer, and if you’re good the $ will come.
